Meet the Characters

Silas Ford

A cerebral young man from Sherwood, New Jersey, Silas has developed great resiliency following the death of his mother three years ago and his father’s abandonment almost a decade before that. Enduring tragedy has forged an unshakable bond between Silas and his brother, Peter, who is different from Silas in ways that are typical for most siblings. A bit of a control freak, Silas will face a colossal challenge on the night of his 25th birthday when unseen forces unveil a destiny that shreds the fabric of reality for Silas and compels him to do things he once thought were unthinkable.

Peter Ford

With his love for stiff drinks and easy women, Peter is Sherwood’s resident lothario and its favorite son. He admires Silas for how he pulled the family together following their father’s departure and, more recently, how his older brother helped Peter put his life back together after their mother’s death. Though he spends the majority of The Devil’s Halo as a captive, Peter is the driving force that propels Silas into situations where less motivated men would throw up their hands and run away.

Colin Shaw

By all appearances, Silas and Peter’s grandfather is a 75-year-old retirement home denizen whose lack of texting prowess greatly amuses his grandsons. But when a powerful demon named Malphas steps from the shadows to kidnap Peter, Colin reveals his true identity to Silas in order to get Peter back in one piece. Decades of duplicity won’t be the only shocking secret Colin shares along the way.

Malphas

One of Hell’s most powerful demons, Malphas is as dangerous as he is arrogant. A sense of grand purpose fuels Malphas on his quest to free his master Asaroth, who was imprisoned over a century ago by Augustus Shaw, history’s greatest demon killer. Kidnapping Peter proves Malphas has a plan for freeing Asaroth that hinges on defeating Silas, who is destined to stand in the demon’s way..

Augustus

If demon killers (known as slayers) could carry a collective tune, they’d sing songs about Augustus. The man who made it his mission to eradicate demons across the country shares a connection with Silas that will be revealed only when Silas has reached his lowest point.

Bill, Grace, Nestor, and Forrest

This group of slayers aids Silas in his quest to find Peter. After fighting alongside them, Silas begins to view these four as the extended family he never had.

Lamia

Unfailing loyalty makes this treacherous demon Malphas’ top lieutenant. With a tongue as sharp as her claws, Lamia is a repeated thorn in the side of Silas throughout The Devil’s Halo
